The Fabrics
An advantage to being small is that I can take a few extra steps that the larger internet shops cannot. For example, a major complaint by internet fabric shoppers is the colour accuracy of the fabrics seen on line. True, scanners interpret colours in their own unique ways but more often than not it is the viewer's monitor that has the greatest impact on accuracy. What can be done?
Here is my solution. Each fabric added to my site will be compared to the two colour wheels on the left: Joen Wolfrom's 3-in-1 Color Tool (JW) and Collins' Rainbow Color Selector (RCS) with the former being more accurate than the latter. To help the RCS, I will add a plus or minus sign next to the number to mean darker or lighter. So, "RCS: YO3+" means "Yellow Orange #3 but darker (darker than #3 but lighter than #4). The information from these tools will be placed with each fabric and if you have one or the other tool or both you can check their colours against your monitor screen.
Finally, if you click on each fabric swatch on the following pages you will open a new pop-up window. Each window has a ruler along the top and along one side to help you judge the scale of the print.
